Growing young minds with Our Family Garden.
The Brief
To develop a fun, educational activity pack that would encourage families and children to engage with gardening. The pack was created in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society’s Campaign for School Gardening, with the goal of making gardening accessible, exciting, and hands-on for a younger audience.
The Deliverables
I led the creative development and design project management, working as the sole designer across every stage of the process. This included sourcing and selecting suitable illustrations, designing two magazines (including a puzzle book), a wall planner, and all packaging artwork. I managed all creative communications with editorial teams, senior stakeholders, and the RHS to ensure everything aligned with brand guidelines and was approved for production.
The Results
The final product was a vibrant, high-quality activity pack that brought gardening to life for children and their families. It was well received by the RHS and successfully stocked in Tesco stores nationwide, helping to broaden the campaign’s reach and impact.

Creative development
As part of the early creative exploration for Our Family Garden, I developed a range of logo concepts that tested different visual directions. Some more playful and child-friendly, others more refined and suited to an adult audience.
This stage was crucial for helping stakeholders clarify the intended tone and audience for the activity pack. Concepts included bright, illustrative lettering with gardening elements for a younger, family-focused feel, as well as more minimalist, typographic styles with organic flourishes for a grown-up look and feel.
The variations allowed managers to visually compare how the brand could lean either towards a fun, activity-driven identity or a more sophisticated, nature-led aesthetic, ultimately helping define the overall creative direction before beginning the bulk of the work.
