The Details
As Senior Designer, I held a key leadership role within the design team, responsible for steering creative direction and ensuring high-quality delivery across a wide portfolio of magazine titles. I provided art direction across covers and editorial features, guiding the visual style from concept to final sign-off.
I managed a team of designers, overseeing daily workflows, maintaining consistency through templates and brand guidelines, and supporting the team in delivering accurate, engaging work to deadline and brief. My role demanded constant adaptability, with content evolving monthly across titles, from regular features to large-scale specials and seasonal campaigns.
Collaboration was central to my work. I partnered closely with editorial teams
and external stakeholders such as the RHS, the National Trust, Sketchers and independent brands to deliver compelling, on-brand content. With titles spanning craft, food, wellbeing, business, teaching, fashion, fitness and home and gardening, I tailored each design approach to the audience while ensuring consistency and creative impact across the board.
I was responsible for all final artwork, from cover design and editorial layouts to digital assets such as podcast graphics, web banners and social media content, ensuring brand consistency across print and digital. I also handled technical checks, including barcode accuracy and production requirements, to meet tight deadlines and maintain quality at every stage.
